Shreveport-Bossier COVID-19 update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has instituted a gradual reopening of many businesses with occupancy restrictions, enhanced sanitation, social distancing, personal protection equipment and other appropriate protection measures necessary to protect the health and safety of the people in Louisiana. Although many businesses have been approved for limited reopening, some nonessential businesses will remain closed to the public. Before you visit a business, please call to confirm that they are open, and to find out what restrictions are being enforced.

Shreveport and Bossier Events

While the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused many of Shreveport-Bossier's largest annual events and festivals to be canceled or postponed, there are still lots of fun things to do in Shreveport-Bossier. Two outstanding livestreaming events are coming up. The American Rose Center's annual Green Thumb Seminar, a day-long program of educational programs on the topic of gardening, will be presented via a free livestream on Saturday, July 18. Prize Fest will host PrizePalooza, with streaming performances from Shinyribs, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Pastor Brady Blade Sr., and more, on Sunday, July 19.

Summer is also farmers' market season in Shreveport-Bossier. Head to Shreveport Farmers' Market or Bossier City Farmers' Market to experience the largest selections in northwestern Louisiana, or have a great clucking time at the 2020 Benton Chicken Swap on Saturday, July 11.
