Spring Festivals Celebrate Food, Flowers and More 

Spring is a busy time for festivals in Shreveport-Bossier, where weekends are packed with non-stop events. The 10th Annual ASEANA Spring Festival will present an evening-long celebration of Vietnamese culture including food, dance, music and more in downtown Shreveport’s Asian Gardens, 4-9 p.m., Saturday, March 25. The first-ever Crawfest at Betty Virginia Park will bring a crawfish boil, local beer, live music and kids’ activities to one of Shreveport’s most popular parks, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, March 25. 

Also new for 2017, the first BLOOM Festival at R.W. Norton Art Gallery will be held, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., on Saturday, April 1. This free event will include botanical garden tours, food trucks, educational programs for kids and more. The Texas Avenue Makers Fair, an enormous arts and crafts fair that takes place on historic Texas Avenue in downtown Shreveport, will also be held on April 1. Other exciting April events include: Holiday in Dixie, April 14-23; Louisiana Comic Con, April 22-23; and Artbreak, April 24-30.
