The Strand Theatre

Sitting in the heart of downtown Shreveport, the beautiful Strand rivals the world’s finest opera houses. The interior includes ornate box seats, gilt-edged mirrors and colors of deep burgundy and rich gold. It also features a magnificent ceiling and dazzling chandeliers, including the massive 14-foot tall main chandelier hanging in the center of the theater, as well as the six murals of the “Muses of the Strand.” It was built in 1935, is the official Louisiana Theater, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Total theater seating capacity is 1,536. The Chandelier Room is also available for rental and will comfortably accommodate 50-75 people.
