Shreveport-Bossier COVID-19 update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has instituted a gradual reopening of many businesses with occupancy restrictions, enhanced sanitation, social distancing, personal protection equipment and other appropriate protection measures necessary to protect the health and safety of the people in Louisiana. Although many businesses have been approved for limited reopening, some nonessential businesses will remain closed to the public. Before you visit a business, please call to confirm that they are open, and to find out what restrictions are being enforced.

World Premiere of "Unexpected Modernism: The Wiener Brothers Story" - NEW DATE SEPT. 10

Join the Louisiana Architecture Foundation, North Louisiana Jewish Federation, and director Gregory Kallenberg for the red carpet world premiere of their documentary film Unexpected Modernism: The Wiener Brothers Story. The premiere will be held at The Strand Theatre of Shreveport at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jun. 25. Tickets are available now for $20-$30 each.

The film tells the story of Jewish architects Samuel G. and William B. Wiener, half brothers from Shreveport, whose modernist designs of residential, institutional, and commercial buildings from the 1930s through the 1960s made Shreveport an early hub of International Modernist design in the United States.
