Join us for a memorable evening of food, dancing and fun benefitting The Arc Caddo-Bossier's GREAT (Great Results Equine Assisted Therapies) program.
GREAT provides a staff of PATH, International (Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship) certified instructors. The staff is trained and dedicated to having a positive impact on each student's physical, psychological and social well being. GREAT's purpose is to promote a healthy and productive life for people with physical, cognitive and multiple disabilities through therapeutic horseback riding.
Volunteers are a major factor in the success of the program. They assist students with their riding lessons and help care for the horses. Volunteers from Caddo and Bossier Parishes as well as East Texas will log in excess of 5,000 hours this year. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
The GREAT horses are donated, leased, or rescued. Each therapy horse goes through an extensive training period prior to beginning lessons.
By attending or supporting our "Wine, Dine, and Equine" event you are supporting a worthwhile program in the Shreveport-Bossier community.
