Taste of the Norton will be held at R.W. Norton Art Gallery on Friday, January 26, 6 p,m, – 9 p.m. Tickets are $35.
Join us at the Norton for a banquet of the senses on January 26. Great chefs have always known that the best dishes are a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. And to truly achieve greatness they also produce tantalizing aromas and titillating textures that dance on the tongue.
The final of the five senses will be called upon when delighted participants share their reactions to the dishes created by Chef Blake Jackson from Drake Catering for “A Taste of the Norton”. Chef Jackson has chosen works from five galleries throughout the museum and devised specific dishes to evoke them. For instance, in our Origins of Western Art Gallery, the chef will conjure up the spirit of our ancient Egyptian pieces with a dish of Cumin Spiced Sous Vide Pheasant, seared and glazed with fig and currant preserves and served on Baladi Pita. Remington and Russell's cowboys and Indians in our Icon and Iconographer Gallery would salivate alike over the chef’s Tanka-me-a-lo, a buffalo stew made with pasilla chilis and cilantro.
These and the chef’s other three dishes will join a cash bar by Wine Country Bistro. A night of gourmet delights set to thrill all of the senses awaits you at the Norton.
