Shreveport Sounds A Music History Symposium

Shreveport Sounds A Music History Symposium will be held at Origin Bank in Shreveport on
Saturday, November 3, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Admission is $60 and up. Lunch is included with ticket price.

Shreveport Sounds A Music History Symposium will investigate the history of North Louisiana’s various decades of music and musicians. The one-day symposium will feature lectures, discussions, films, and musical performances.

Moderator for the event is musician Winston Hall. The symposium will include guest speakers: Robert Trudeau, Chris Brown, Dan Garner, Wendall Glass, and James Davenport. With special appearances from local legends
L.C. Wells, Dorsey Summerfield, and Buddy Flett.

Guest speakers will discuss significant Shreveport topics such as Jimi Hendrix at the Municipal, Shreveport Barbershop Quartets, Lead Belly, and even the Old Blue Goose neighborhood. There will be a Pop-Up Museum that will allow individuals to showcase their personal music memorabilia. Explore Shreveport’s past and present at this unique event.
