New York, Toronto, Hong Kong, Miami and now Shreveport! See Rainbow City, an outdoor experience featuring 35 whimsical, colorful, air-filled sculptures soaring 50 feet into the sky during a six-week festival celebrating the opening of The Common Park.
The Shreveport Regional Arts Council and the City of Shreveport are opening Rainbow City with a nine-block parade, and you are invited to join 10 professional northwest Louisiana artists to make a parade costume, noisemaker, decorate a bicycle, or help with a parade float and become a member of a marching/making Rainbow City Krewe.
Meet at artspace at 708 Texas St. at 10 a.m., Saturday morning, October 26. The Parade March will begin at 2 p.m. Neighbors of the cultural district known as Shreveport Commoners will lead the vibrant parade and “land” in Rainbow City for an opening celebration of The Common Park.
