Gritonian Music and Dance Fête: Celebrating the Moves and the Grooves of the Black Diaspora

July 27, 2019

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, Lumpy Grits Artistry will be at the East Bank District and Plaza for the Gritonian Music and Dance Fête 2019: Celebrating the Moves and the Grooves Of the Black Diaspora. It will be from 6 p.m.-11 p.m.
Children 5 and under free
Children Tickets $5
Adult Tickets are $10

The purpose of the event is to celebrate, raise awareness and educate our community on the connection between music, dance and the black experience. We will trace music from its roots geographically and chronologically starting with the Middle Passage from Africa to the 21 century.

If you attend then you will get a chance to vote in contests, eat, drink from the cash bar, look throughout the museum, mix and mingle, meet artists, network and listen to live performances. Did someone say danse!?!

Make sure you come shake a tail feather in the courtyard with DJ Stan to African, Afro-Caribbean, Reggae and popular American songs.

We know that are all still connected through an internal beat and rhythm and we will continue to jam throughout the Black Diaspora. This is evident throughout the music that create and dance to today. We are encouraging you to make plans to come participate and attend! Support and vote for your friends. Contact us today! Tickets go on sale soon. We are currently taking vendor applications also.
