Fat Tuesday in Shreve Town, A Walking Parade

March 5, 2019

Join us in costume or Mardi Gras attire as we celebrate the beginning of the city in the old Shreve Town area. Enjoy a block of interactive stops that bring us up to modern day Shreveport. We’ll begin with a purple, gold, and green toast to Captain Shreve and hear his story at an old building in what was our hustling, bustling street of commerce. In the lot of one of the oldest buildings in town, now the Spring Street Museum, experience what it was like in the old days when justice was delivered by dueling, then across to Shreve Square and compete in a Mardi Gras themed “Rally in the Alley” and learn more about the old buildings left there, lastly we’ll party it up in present time while enjoying the specials of your choosing in the Red River District. You ARE the parade! Celebrate history as we make history.
