Bossier Arts Council presents: A Photography Exhibit by Charlie Corbett

Artwork will hang from April 1 - May 30. The opening reception is Saturday, April 11, from 4-6 p.m.

Charlie Corbett is from a small town in Colorado. As a young boy, he was never sitting still, always riding his bike through town on his way out into the country, exploring exciting new discoveries. For his 10th birthday he was given an Instamatic 100, and what he calls his "superpower" was revealed: He could capture and keep forever his discoveries with his trusty camera.

Nothing was ever posed. What he most valued was that one, often elusive, moment in time that stopped him in his tracks, that he could keep forever. His camera became his conversation starter, and often found himself in a conversation with someone new, and even meeting new friends while taking photographs.

That wide-eyed, childhood wonder still informs his work today, as he still prizes photographs as tokens of the external, everlasting and endlessly shareable.

This event is free to the public
