Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards took significant measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Louisiana and has issued a statewide "stay at home" order until April 12, requiring Louisiana residents to shelter in place unless going out for essential tasks, as one of the most stringent steps yet to stanch the “community spread” of COVID-19.

Bossier Arts Council Presents the artworks of Adena Helm - CANCELED

February 1 - March 31, 2020

The Bossier Arts Council is proud to present the artworks of Adena Helm on display in the East Bank Gallery
February 1-March 31, 2020.

Adena is an acrylic and mixed media painter using planned and intuitive layers to capture the essence of a person, animal or flower. She entertains the idea that there is more than meets the eye. The interaction of planned and intuitive layers feels as though she is painting with an invisible partner. The question of how each painting is going to unfold thrills the "Nancy Drew" in her. If something catches her eye, She is going to introduce it to the mystery and see what happens.

She lives on Black Bayou in Benton Louisiana and received her Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts from Athens State University, Athens Alabama in 2001. She has worked in many different media including stained glass, oils, watercolor, pottery, fiber arts and 3D art, all of which influence her painting style now with structure, light, color and texture.

The Opening Reception will be held Friday, February 7, 6-8 p.m.
