Bossier Arts Council presents: 2019 Annual Bossier Parish Student Art Show

December 10, 2019

The Bossier Arts Council is very excited to present this year's Bossier Parish Student Art Show, "The Hero In Me". The art show will be on display in the East Bank Gallery and Emerging Artist Gallery from December 3, 2019 through January 31, 2020.

Visitors can experience the delight of viewing the most talented children's artwork in Bossier Parish. These young artists will compete for cash prizes and the title of "best in show". The visitor also has the unique opportunity to purchase an original piece of art from a blossoming young artist on the cusp of greatness.

This year's theme encourages students from Bossier Parish elementary, middle, and high schools to produce artworks that showcase what it means to them to be a hero or to honor someone in their life that gives them inspiration. Each student is to create an original piece of artwork that is heroic to themselves, his or her likes, or interests. “The Hero In Me” is aimed at instilling fundamental values of empowerment in students.

The Bossier Arts Council will accept various media including, painting, drawing, collage, graphic art, print, as well as digital and traditional photography. Students may also submit their work in two-dimensional or three-dimensional formats.

The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 10 from 6 pm - 8 pm. The council will be awarding $1500 in prizes this year.
