Shreveport-Bossier COVID-19 update: Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has instituted a gradual reopening of many businesses with occupancy restrictions, enhanced sanitation, social distancing, personal protection equipment and other appropriate protection measures necessary to protect the health and safety of the people in Louisiana. Although many businesses have been approved for limited reopening, some nonessential businesses will remain closed to the public. Before you visit a business, please call to confirm that they are open, and to find out what restrictions are being enforced.

Bossier Arts Council / East Bank Gallery present Carola Nix

August 1 - September 30, 2020

The Bossier Arts Council will exhibit works by Carola Nix in the East Bank Gallery from August 1 until September 30.

An opening reception will be held at East Bank Gallery, August 7, 6-8 p.m., and is free to the public.

Carola Angrick Nix is a German artist who has been living in the United States and specifically in Louisiana for many years. She studied Interior Design and Architecture before coming to the US. She is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA), the Bossier Arts Council, and a roster member of the Northwest Louisiana Artist Directory.

In Germany, Carola illustrated several book covers for the German/American writer Patricia Koelle, which were published as e-books as well as in print. Here in the US, her work has received awards in several juried competitions, from honorable mentions to 1st Place. She was recognized as a Louisiana Colored Pencil Artist in “Our Louisiana” magazine in February 2012 and January of 2013. Carola has attended workshops by artists like Dyan Locati, Linda Lucas Hardy, Sheila Theodoratos, and Tracy Verdugo.
