June is Demonstration month! Catch your favorite Highland artist demonstrating his/her crafts!
Maps are available at each location to make your journey fun.
The tour is June 11, noon to 4 p.m.
Stops on the tour are:
2410 Line Avenue: (Line and Dalzell) Owner Desire Mingo: Be a “Suitey” and stop by Suite Nine1six. This clothing boutique is the gem of the Highland neighborhood and is not to be missed! You can catch Kate Rhea with Zombie Candles there one day only!
460 Dudley St: Susan Fortenberry will open her doors for you to view the art of jewelry-making. Watch Sherry Tamburo demonstrate the art of “felting.” It’s a beautiful process. Demo will take place between noon and 2 p.m.
206 Prospect: Check out the whimsical workspace of Wendy Tisdale. She will have plenty of supplies to make magic wands and wishing stars! Take your finished item with you! Also feel free to check out the massage studio, book an appointment!! Demo time is 1-3 p.m.
424 Dalzell: Karen La Beau will share with you how she does her “white lines” series. Marci Hicks will demonstrate the use of “Copic Markers/Blending;” Lynn Laird will bring her whimsical characters to life through watercolor; Always wanted to learn to crochet? You can observe Tori Ladd crochet with a large hook and thick yarn. Christena Francis will have limited supplies for you to make your own wire wrapped earrings. Tracy McComic with “Wired & Sassy” will demonstrate using alcohol inks to paint metal clay. You will be able to take your end product with you! Demo time is 2-4 p.m.
420 Merrick St: The studio of Daniel Cordell is a great stop! Watch him demonstrate “Lichtenberg wood burning.” It’s a fascinating process!! Demo time 1:30-3:30 p.m.
