ACT Presents "The Lion King, Junior"

The Academy of Children's Theatre will present the Broadway smash hit "The Lion King, Junior",
June 2-11, at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse, on the Centenary College campus.  This production will star
Donovon Roe as Mufasa, Mike Martindale as Puumba, Natorshau Davis as Rafiki, Sean Grady as Scar,  Carter Whitaker as Simba, Ashley Jackson as Nala, Emily Martinson as Zazu, Holland Marrs as Young Simba and Trevor VanEaton as Timon. 

"The Lion King, Junior" tells the tale of the young lion Simba and his quest to find his purpose in life.  Set against the backdrop of exotic Africa, "The Lion King, Junior" features such classic hits by Elton John and Tim Rice  as "I Just Can't Wait to Be King", "Circle of Life", "Hakuna Matata", and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight."  This blockbuster summer musical will be June 2 and 9 at 7 p.m. and June 3-4 and 10-11 at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at acttickets.info or by calling 318-212-2822.

The production will feature 80 local singers, dancers, and actors and is being directed by Cynthia Hawkins Whitaker with choreography by Elizabeth Mendell Carmody.  Daniel Ley is music director and sets are by Jade Crook Dishman and Eugen Crook with costumes/puppets by Michelle Dormaier and Mandy Marrs.
